Road Surfacing (Anti-Skid)

Calcined Refractory bauxite is widely used as an anti-skid aggregate on roads, pedestrian walkways, bridges and other areas where people or vehicles are likely to slip or skid. When applied with a binder the bauxite provides a surface which is highly resistant to polishing and wear.

In particular bauxite is used on the approach to pedestrian crossings, traffic signals, roundabouts and junctions where severe braking is required.

We supply high purity bauxite in fine powder form for use in submerged arc welding fluxes, produced to tight grain size and chemical analysis tolerances.

We also supply chamotte and flint clay which are very low in impurities for the production of sanitary fireclay products and other ceramics.
We use the products we produce in our own refractory products. We also sell many thousands of tonnes to other refractory manufacturers of both bricks and monolithics.

Grades produced range from 10mm to -0.125mm ball mill fines.

DSF is recognised as a quality producer who can produce dust free material in the accurate sieve sizes required.
