Pure alumina materials DSF 99 and the cast version, DSF 99C, are both used in carbon black reactors to withstand the reducing conditions and potentially high temperatures associated with the process.![]() DSF 99C tangential port & DSF 99 brick lining in vertical reactor section. A pure magnesia-alumina spinel material, DSF Frimax 7, has also been developed to give the added advantage of higher operational temperature limits and total resistance to alkali, particularly potassium compounds. To attain the necessary physical properties, all these materials are fired to 1700C. DSF have invested more than half a million pounds in a new kiln to treble the company's capacity for high fired products. The investment improves our service by shortening delivery lead times and shows our commitment to offering high performance refractory materials to the carbon black industry. ![]() DSF's new kiln and Carbon Black brochure |
